Job Overview
Qualifications
The People Development (PD) Generalist will be located at the Windsor Assembly Plant in Windsor, Ontario. The position will support the Manufacturing Human Resources Department and Manufacturing Operations towards the attainment of key goals and objectives consistent with World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodologies, processes and systems. Reporting directly to the People Development Lead, responsibilities include carrying out all related People Development activities to support implementation of strategic goals and objectives. The position requires knowledge of WCM methodology as it applies to the Technical and Managerial Pillars. The PD Generalist will provide support in all related activities, specifically: participating in shop floor reviews providing coaching, teaching, and feedback to ensure compliance to Pillar methodology and application of proper tools to solve problems within the Pillar steps, developing route maps, coaching and assisting the other Pillars in WCM audit preparation, while measuring status of implementation to master plans and proper level of preparedness. In addition, this position will provide support as a liaison between the plant PD Pillar and the WCM North American team to benchmark and share best practices within the FCA organization, for implementation at the Windsor Assembly Plant. Additional duties include supporting the other functional areas within Human Resources including Talent Management, Employment and Labour Relations as required. This position may require shift work, including overtime. Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related discipline (such as Business, Industrial Relations or Law)
  • Related experience in Human Resources in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to work with all levels of employees from Team Member to Senior level
  • Superior analytical and organizational skills
  • Knowledge of World Class Manufacturing (WCM)
  • Extremely high proficiency in Google Suite Applications (Sheets, Docs, Slides) and Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills including presentation skills
  • Able to work under pressure and support change in plant operations
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Direct experience in the creation and implementation of employee training and development programs
  • Experience with negotiations, and relationship building in a unionized environment (Unifor)
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WCM Pillar methodology as well as linkage between pillars
