Job Overview

The candidate will be in charge of the design, development and integration legacy and next-generation OTA, FOTA, MOTA, AOTA update systems based on in-vehicle ECUs connected to FCA in-the-cloud service delivery platforms.

Main responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end xOTA specifications of the interface of both on-board and off-board components, in compliance with FCA business and regulatory (e.g. UNECE) requirements;
  • Design/co-design, develop and integrate xOTA components into electrical/electronic architectures;
  • Support failure modes and effects analysis of end-to-end xOTA systems;
  • Improve the connectivity between the xOTA System and FCA backend tools;
  • Support xOTA system validation activities;
  • Support the xOTA update release management plan;
  • Support operational xOTA update campaigns;
  • Improve the xOTA Campaign Management process and the management of the xOTA Server Web-Portal


  • Master of Science degree in Electronics or Computer Science or Telecommunications or Software Engineering;
  • Knowledge of automotive connectivity and telematics systems;
  • Knowledge of Mobile Network Architectures;
  • Semiformal modeling of functional and technical requirements mapped at both system and component level;
  • Good capability to design, develop and integrate connected services and features;
  • Good knowledge of English language: the candidate will be requested to handle in English both the release of technical documents and meetings with FCA and its global suppliers;
  • Basic technical skills in automotive system engineering, networking and diagnosis;
  • Basic knowledge of embedded SW Lifecycle management process;
  • Basic knowledge of system DFMEA and risk assessment, mobile network architectures;
  • Basic technical skills in cybersecurity mechanisms for data integrity, confidentiality and authenticity;
  • Critical character traits to ensure success:
    • Ability to think outside-the-box in high pressure situations;
    • Ability to carry out multi-task activities;
    • Detail-orientation and problem-solving
