In this role, you will be expected to: Use strategic thinking and partner with Operational Team business leaders on building people capability and high performing teams in support of business goals and objectives, and assist in the development and deployment of a robust talent management platform and succession planning process. You will need to provide hands-on human resources expertise to deliver: Value added resource planning, organization design and retention strategies, performance and leadership appraisal process including being a champion of employee development, and coaching to managers and employees on HR processes and practices while acting as a strong role-model for the team. You’ll manage and resolve complex employee issues in a unionized environment, including providing guidance on conflict resolution and corrective actions. You’ll examine HR trends to proactively address issues and implement change management initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Human Resources professional with increasingly responsible roles in one or more of the following areas: people development, labor relations, talent management, HR policy deployment and/or organizational planning, training and development
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Manufacturing and/ or industrial experience highly preferred including World Class Manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Broad HR technical expertise and systems knowledge – working knowledge of HR functional areas through prior experience as an HR generalist
  • Ability to act as thinking partner/coach for business leadership on various HR issues and processes impacting the strategic and long range business plans
  • Ability to collaborate with shared services organization, centers of excellence and other HR business partner groups
  • Change advocacy/consulting skills – effective in implementing change within role, seeks to learn and implement best practices
  • Strategic thinking – ability to think globally and strategically
  • Customer focus – demonstrated ability to exceed customer expectations and deliver on commitments
