The IP Cluster Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a team of release engineers in the execution of various cluster projects. The role involves a high level of cross functional leadership to ensure alignment and decisions reflect the goals of the component roadmap. The Engineering Manager will focus on enabling their team to meet all the vehicle milestones and ensure compliance, safety and functional requirements are achieved. This leader is expected to be able to communicate complex issues and solutions to a broad audience of senior leadership. The Engineering Manager will need the ability to provide technical direction and establish processes to keep a high level of efficiency within the team. This position will offer the opportunity to lead a high performance team of engineers gaining valuable leadership experience while working in a fast paced environment on the latest automotive technology.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Responsible for all North America IP Cluster projects
- Lead and manage a team of Design Release Engineers (DRE) in the execution of multiple electrical module development projects
- Establish robust design capabilities and best practices
- Reach for best in class performance, customer experience and quality in every project
- Build and develop a collaborative culture where dynamic and innovative thinking is encouraged
- Facilitate and provide technical direction
- Review and approve all development plans and ensure component timing meets vehicle milestones
- Ensure all compliance, safety and functional requirements are met
- Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Mechanical Engineering(or equivalent) from an accredited university
- 10 years of engineering experience in electrical module development or software development with demonstrated ability to perform at a high level
- Proven leadership skills managing teams directly or indirectly
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to use a structure approach to analyze, root cause and solve complex issues
- Ability to communicate complex issues to cross functional teams and senior leadership
- Master of Science degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university
- 8 years experience managing a team of engineers
