Qualifications

The Transportation Process Specialist will develop and document processes for the FCA Transportation (FCAT) and Auto Transportation Services (ATS) terminals in Detroit, Michigan, Toledo, Ohio and Windsor, Ontario. The person in this role will be involved with operations, finance and dealing with internal and external customers. Their ideas for new ways to improve processes, strategically source services, control expenses, increase productivity, elevate service to our customers, and further our competitive advantage in the industry are highly valued contributions.

Job responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Create documentation/workflows/guidance and job aids for FCAT / ATS processes
  • Manage special projects and incoming / outgoing equipment 
  • Collect and document business requirements for projects/process improvements/automation
  • Cost savings initiatives lead for all FCAT/ATS terminals 
  • Revenue and overtime forecasting process for all of FCAT/ATS
  • Maintain familiarity with assembly plant calendars: understand calendars, plant operating patterns and last minute production requests
  • Perform internal ISO audits at all three terminals
  • Prepare presentations for executive management
  • Cover supervisor shifts in maintenance as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations Management, or related field from an accredited university
  • Five years of experience in logistics, supply chain or related disciplines 
  • Computer proficient – including Google, spreadsheet, word processing, presentation and database applications
  • Ability to travel to all terminals is required (Windsor, ON Canada – Toledo, OH USA)
  • Strong written and oral communication skill 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Strong data analysis and project management skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Supervisory experience (manufacturing/maintenance)
  • Experience in a unionized environment
  • Forecasting experience
  • Business intelligence technologies (Qlik Sense/Tableau)
